An original eNovella set in the world of the Lotus War before the events of Stormdancer . . .Your blood-red skies are filled with smoke. Your bleach-white histories with lies. You walk sleeping. Wake senseless. Breathing deep of toxic blooms and forgetting all that has gone before. But I remember. I remember when two brothers waged bloody war over the right to sit in their father's empty chair. I remember when the skies above Shima were not red, but blue. Filled with thunder tigers. I remember when they left you. And I remember why. Let me tell you, monkey-child . . .
The Last Stormdancer eBook Jay Kristoff
Downside first, I can't give this 5 stars, as, like StormDancer, I had problems getting engaged with the story. I set it down several times, only to pick it up and resume where I left off.Overall, for the breif story being told, this is as well crafted, or better, than StormDancer! I was puzzled how Kristoff was going to resolve the various character's issues/desires/goals. If you've read StormDancer, then you will obviously know "how" the main characters goals will play out, in the long term, but I still found the short term resolution refreshingly unpredicted.
This piece was well worth the minimal cost for a Kindle publication.

The Last Stormdancer eBook Jay Kristoff Reviews
Great read! Loved the whole series. Steam punk, ninjas, mythical beasts and an ecocritical edge - awesome.
Jay Kristoff is amazing, short form or long!
This was a well thought out back story to the series and a very good novella in its own right. It gave me context for the series without being a spoiler and well was worth the money.
Even though I knew how this would end, the journey still surprised me. I think it's enjoyable if you have or haven't read The Lotus War trilogy. It was fun and touching in a way I didn't expect.
It was a most intense read. i read it all in one sitting. Great use of foreshadowing. Will be rereading this book and the three that link with it.
I found this novella to be a superior story than the first book of the Lotus War series. More martial arts, more griffin culture, and more tragedy. In my rather limited experience I would say it is more in synch with Japanese dramatic tradition.
A great prequel.
Damn you Mister Kristoff! The feels in this book! The feels! Make us bleed more with this kind of stuff!
